昨日の一部報道番組で、ナフサの供給について、「日本は６月には供給が確保できなくなる」との指摘がありました。

しかし、ナフサについては、既に調達済みの輸入ナフサと国内での精製２ヶ月分に加え、ポリエチレン等のナフサから作られる中間段階の化学製品（川中製品）の在庫２ヶ月分（ナフサ精製が仮にゼロであっても需要を満たす供給ができる期間）で、少なくとも国内需要４ヶ月分を確保しています。

また、足下では、国内でのナフサ精製の継続（約110万ｋｌ/月相当（2024年平均））に加え、中東以外からのナフサ輸入量も倍増すること（約90万ｋｌ/月相当）によって、昨年の平均的な国内需要量（約280万kl/月）を満たすにあたっても、前記の川中製品の在庫（ナフサ換算で約560万ｋｌ）を使う量も減らすことができ、その在庫期間は半年以上に伸びます。

加えて、現在、その川中製品の世界からの新たな調達も強化しようとしています。

したがって、当該報道にある「日本は6月には供給が確保できなくなる」という指摘は事実誤認であり、そのようなことはありません。

これからも、国民生活と経済活動に影響を生じることのないよう、安定供給の確保に全力で取り組んでまいります。
